Worth knowing

The cross stands in the Plaza de Capuchinos, an austere white square with almost nothing else in it. Eight iron lanterns surround it on posts, and the emptiness of the square is what makes it work.

⭐ It costs nothing and is outdoors, so it is available whenever you are. ⚠️ It is a place of devotion as well as a photograph — people come here to pray.

Go after dark. Lit, in an empty white square, it is one of the few sights in the city that is better at night than by day.

Our tip

At night, and quietly.
