The museum occupies the Palacio de los Páez de Castillejo, and the building is part of the exhibit — its courtyard is worth the entrance on its own.
⭐ Beneath it are the remains of the Roman theatre, found during work on the museum and now shown in the basement. It was among the largest in the Roman west.
The collection runs from prehistory through Roman Corduba to caliphal Qurtuba, which makes it the one place that lays the city's layers out in order rather than leaving you to assemble them from buildings.
