The Judería is the warren of whitewashed lanes north-west of the Mezquita. It was the Jewish quarter of the medieval city, and the street pattern — narrow, shaded, turning constantly — is largely unchanged even where the buildings are not.
⭐ The lanes are public and cost nothing. The trick is depth: two or three turns away from the Mezquita the crowd thins sharply, and the quarter becomes what people came to see.
The synagogue is here, as is the Casa de Sefarad. Between them the quarter carries most of what survives of Jewish Córdoba, which was substantial before the expulsions.
Our tip
Walk it early or late. Midday between the Mezquita and Calleja de las Flores is shoulder to shoulder.
